Why scanned PDFs are hard to edit
When you scan or photograph a document, the result is a picture of the page, not real text. That's why clicking a word in most editors does nothing. PDFLegit PRO runs text recognition on your own device — nothing is uploaded — and makes the words it finds clickable.
Fix a wrong word on a scan
- Open your scanned PDF in the Edit PDF tool.
- Press Read text. The first use downloads about 10 MB of recognition data; after that it's instant.
- Click the wrong word and type the correction. It is placed at the same size as the surrounding text.
- Save. In the downloaded file the original word is permanently removed, not just hidden.
Erase stamps, signatures and smudges
Erase content lets you drag over any part of the scan — a stamp, a signature, a coffee stain — and remove it permanently from the downloaded file. Pointing at an image or barcode shows a red box; tap it to delete or replace it. On a fully scanned page the whole page is one image, so use Erase content for parts of it.
Tips for Kenyan users
- Photograph the page straight-on in good light — recognition is far more accurate.
- Handwriting and very blurry scans may be misread; check the suggested words before replacing.
- Need the whole document editable? Use PDF to Word instead.
